New collaboration & New assays for cardiovascular diseases

BiomarkerBay has started a collaboration with the group of Prof. Rudolf de Boer, Department of Experimental Cardiology, UMCG / RuG.

UMCG-RUG@1,5xWith this new collaboration,  a key expert in Translational Cardiology is added to the BiomarkerBay network. The research group focuses on cardiogenetics, looking at novel genes involved in cardiac remodeling, fibrosis, and metabolic changes and diabetes. Clinically, their expertise lies on echocardiography and end stage heart failure including VAD therapy and transplant.  One major topic is the involvement of galectin-3 in clinical heart failure and in the general population, and its role in the pathophysiology of heart failure.

Additional biomarker assays related to heart failure have been added to the BiomarkerBay assay database, including ELISA assays for Gal-3, NTproBNP, Cathepsin D, SGP-130, ST2 and Relaxin in plasma samples. For the full list, please check here: Assays_Cardiology_Nov2016).
